Originally broadcast in 1967 and starring Patrick Troughton, The Macra Terror is a classic, dystopian Doctor Who serial where the Second Doctor frees a cheerful human colony secretly enslaved and brainwashed by giant parasitic crustaceans. Because the BBC wiped all four original episodes in the 1970s, BBC Studios fully reconstructed the missing adventure in 2019 using surviving fan-recorded audio, dynamic new animation, and an upgraded creature design available in both color and period-authentic black-and-white.
